The Auction x Filipino Artist Guild
The NEAR NFT community is fortunate to have the creative talent of artists from the Philippines. Their presence and power in the NEAR ecosystem cannot be ignored. This community came together and organized the Filipino Artists Guild led by Ligaya, Vanengs, and K. The guild formed as a collective of artists in the Philippines working together to support each other and support NFT art on NEAR Protocol. Although many Filipino artists have been in the NEAR ecosystem for some time, the guild started in January 2022. In just a few months, the Filipino community has expanded its numbers through ambitious onboarding initiatives and organized numerous community events.
The Filipino Artist Guild supports, promotes, and advocates for the growing NFT artist community in the Philippines. The guild’s work starts with monthly onboarding goals. They continue to support their artists with educational community chats about how to navigate the NEAR ecosystem, challenging creative competitions, collaborations with other DAOs, recognition of the accomplishments of individual artists in an artist of the month feature, and fundraising to help community members in need. Many Filipino artists are involved with charitable projects, peer support, and promoting NEAR Protocol in the crypto community. This guild is a strong, creative and generous community guild.
As a part of their ongoing work to support and promote their artists, the Filipino Artist Guild is starting auctions on art minted from their Mintbase store. While The Auction was in testnet the Filipino Artist Guild artist community participated in testing and learned to use Mintbase and list auctions. Now the guild will have the opportunity to grow their collector community, showcase top artists, increase the visibility of their community projects, and increase the value of collectible art through The Auction platform.
This large and diverse community promises unique creative art for bidders on The Auction. Bidders that collect from Filipino artists are supporting a community doing altruistic work and working to grow the NEAR ecosystem.
No NFT platform on NEAR would be complete without the Filipino Artist Guild, and The Auction welcomes Filipino artists.
