The Auction — Alpha Testnet Release
The Auction welcomes its first batch of alpha testers! We are having fun on testnet playing with the basic auction features and finding bugs. Alpha testers are seeing and experiencing the platform in the earliest stages with only the most basic features to list an auction and bid on an auction. It is exciting to be involved at this stage of development and The Auction team would like to invite you to join alpha testing.
First set up a testnet wallet at https://wallet.testnet.near.org/ The process is the same as setting up a standard NEAR wallet but you will find that your testnet wallet has some testnet tokens to start. With your testnet wallet, connect to testnet.the-auction.io and add a storage deposit of at least 0.03N per auction to your account. This is a part of the smart contract to maintain the items that are listed. This is a necessary step before you can list or bid on the site. You can add the minimum amount because we’re on testnet.
Now you are ready to start bidding on NFTs! Scroll through the gallery and click on the NFTs you like to get more information. Right now there are no options for sorting, searching, or filtering the NFTs available for auction, but if you’re lucky you might find pictures of my dog. Click on the NFT you want. You can see the platform where the smart contract originates, the owner, a description, royalty splits, and the history of bidding. Click to place a bid at the minimum bid amount or type in a higher number if you wish to offer a higher amount. Approve the transaction in your wallet and wait to see if you win.
If you want to list NFTs for the auction you need to mint some on Paras Testnet or Mintbase Testnet It can take up to ten minutes for your NFTs to be visible on the auction testnet platform. When you see your NFT in the “My cards” section of The Auction click to “list card” and select categories, add any relevant hashtags, select your start and end dates, start price, bidding increments, and click to complete the listing. Approve in your wallet, and wait for your auction to close.
Currently, these are the only two functions available on The Auction platform. The developer team is hard at work on all the feedback so far and is seeking more testers to run through these two fundamental functions.
Testers with a successful auction with at least twenty unique testnet bidders may qualify for a 1 $NEAR reward. In order to qualify, list your NFT, and tweet the link to your auction tagging @the_auction_io. Submit a proposal for 1 $NEAR to The Auction DAO using your mainnet wallet, and include the link to your tweet about your auction.
The Auction DAO council will be checking and vetting all entries, and voting on the proposals. The Auction is looking to give away rewards to at least 100 unique mainnet wallets. Now is the time to get in and test The Auction with us.
